At 1408 Ndustreal Design our mission is to make the best effects pedals possible for every type of player. Whether you are a touring musician, recording studio, or just the average person that plays small clubs our pedals are built to last. We build effects pedals for people who want a premium effects pedal and not because we are chasing the “all mighty dollar”. In short, we love building pedals and that is reflected in our work. If you want an effects pedal built with attention to detail, performance, and reliability consider picking up one of our builds.
We stand behind our work:
We have a limited lifetime guarantee. Our parts are guaranteed for the life of the pedal. Had a capacitor pop or a footswitch fail? Send it to us. We will repair it for free. Obviously, we do not cover damage from voltage overload, water damage, or other types of misuse damage, but we will repair the pedal for the cost of the repair.
Quality Parts Are Important:
At 1408 Ndustreal Design we only use premium parts sourced from reliable vendors. Unfortunately some builders purchase “no name” branded components at the lowest price from sellers on places like Ebay and AliExpress. We’re not saying good parts can’t be purchased from those sites but more times than not those parts are secondary quality that didn’t pass QA/QC from the original manufacturer. We purchase quality parts from places like Mouser, Newark, Arrow, and Digikey. WIMA, Nichicon, Kemet, Epcos, and KOA Speer are some of the major brands we use in our builds.
We still build pedals:
These days more builders are going to surface mount parts (SMD). While there is nothing wrong with this process, we think it ultimately comes down to effort vs price. If you pay a premium price for a pedal, shouldn’t you get a product that has been built and not just assembled. SMD design pedals are largely manufactured overseas and only a small amount of effort is put into actually building them by the company. By using through hole parts our pedals are not only built with strict attention to detail but they are also easy to modify and repair. Our philosophy is “Quality over Quantity”.
We are a small shop and always will be:
As long as I own this company we will always be a small shop. Higher build volume equals higher chances for defects and loss of quality control. It’s an inevitable part of business. That’s why I always want to keep this company at a manageable size so every pedal that goes out the door is the same quality as the one we just built.
